Understanding the mission

And what is a Curious Creationist?

My friend, Harry Howe, suggested that this website be called “Curious Creationist.”

He referred to it as a battle cry. Immediately, Paul’s references to “fighting the good fight” came to mind. He expands on that in Ephesians, writing “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

Thank you, Harry.

And what is a Curious Creationist?

I have been in awe of J.R.R. Tolkien’s genius since I read his books as a child. He begins The Hobbit by asking “And what is a hobbit?” The Socratic method teaches using probing questions. Jesus used questions to not only teach but destroy the traps his enemies laid. Tolkien used a question to draw in the reader to the wondrous world of hobbits.

Humans have a God-given curiosity that can motivate us to learn if we let it. Once we start learning, we can travel paths of learning that edify us or gratify our desires. Paths that build us up or tear us down. Paths that benefit those whose lives we touch or make them miserable.

The mission of Curious Creationist is to activate your sanctified imagination while wearing the parachute of truth.

A Curious Creationist admits he or she hasn’t learned it all yet.

Have you ever found out new information that changed your understanding? How did you respond?

Being open to new information doesn’t mean you have lost faith in what you believe. If your beliefs are “rooted and built up” then “test the spirits” to satisfy your curiosity. (Colossians 2:7, John 4:1)

Why did I just play Whack-A-Mole? I’m glad you asked.

When I graduated from a Christian university with a STEM degree, I was prepared to convince every evolutionist of the error of his or her ways. The problem was that scientists constantly change their claims. It felt like I was playing Whack-A-Mole.

Debunk one theory of speleogenesis and another one pops ups out of a hole in the ground.
