Steve seeks to glorify his Savior, Jesus Christ, by immersing himself in Scripture and living out its teachings. His passion for obedience includes writing historical fiction that is deeply rooted in biblical truths and inspired by God’s Word.

The genre of historical fiction has a reputation of deviating from history in ways that might be considered as revisionist. An example of this is John Milton’s Paradise Lost. Steve prays that this is not true of his writing.

Mark Twain once said, “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”

John Milton was more of a poet than Steve will ever be, but he wrote historical fiction about biblical history that contradicts many other Scriptures. Steve has spent years researching how he imagines the Garden of Eden. He has prayerfully added details that are not in the biblical account but could have been true.

Steve wants you to think. He presents ideas and elaborates them through his characters’ dialog that reveal the nature of God and the nature of man. Many of his imagined scenarios are based on other passages of Scripture.

Sanctified Imagination

Steve challenges the reader to search the Scriptures for verification of these insights. Paul praised the Bereans for searching the Scripture daily. He further, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, commands that everyone be ready to give a reason of the hope that he or she has with meekness and trembling. Come let us reason together.
